Anxiety
Anxiety in Chinese medicine is described as a state where the spirit (Shen)
is not firmly housed (grounded) because the heart energy
is disturbed. Meditation and breathing exercises can
be useful to consolidate the heart energy, as can certain
herbs and classical formulae. At the same time it is
desirable to address the aspects of one's life causing
distress and make appropriate changes where possible.
