Infertility

Infertility is a complex disorder which Chinese medicine differentiates according to its energetic causes and has good success in treating. The best results are obtained by seeing a qualified Chinese medicine practitioner (one of our in-store practitioners will be pleased to assist) but where this is not possible appropriate supplementation can help. The majority of cases are due to either a deficient condition where the uterus is unreceptive to the fertilized ovum or to an energetic disorder manifesting as a hormonal imbalance where the normal ovulation cycle is disrupted. In the first case symptoms will include tiredness and fatigue and it is appropriate to nourish qi and blood (strengthen the lining of the uterus), andin the second symptoms will include PMT and possibly period irregularity and it is appropriate to regulate the qi (balance the endocrine system).
