Stress
Of course we cannot avoid stress and indeed a degree
of stress has been shown to be helpful to drive us forward.
Where stress becomes harmful is when it is continuous,
in which case it tends to overwhelm the body's capacity
to maintain equilibrium and ill health ensues. Chinese
medicine describes that feeling of being under stress
as an inner tension which disrupts the smooth flow of
energy (qi) around the body and treatment is geared
towards restoring smooth flow of energy to encourage
the body and mind to relax.
